Flipped AI Explained: Chat App vs Hiring Platform

Illustration of Flipped AI search results splitting into three paths: companion chat, career and hiring platform, and an unidentified website operator.

Search “flipped ai” and you get three results that share a name. One is an 18+ AI character chat app. One is a New York and Chennai career and hiring platform. The third is a site on a European domain whose pages never say who runs it. I found no statement linking the three.

Most people mean Flipped.Chat, the chat app. It is free to start, and as of November 2026 its paid plans on the US App Store run from $4.99 a week to $39.99 a year. If you want the hiring tool, that is Flipped.ai. This guide separates them and does the real cost math. It also covers privacy, age rules and how cancellation works.

Which “Flipped AI” are you looking for?

Most searchers want Flipped.Chat, but Flipped.ai is a different company with a different product. Here is how each one describes itself, based on pages I read on November 4, 2026.

NameWhat it isWho runs it, per its own pagesCost to startAge rule stated
Flipped.Chat (flipped.chat, plus the iOS and Android app)AI character chat, role-play, voice, images and videoTerms name Singapore Desert Oasis Technical Pte. Ltd. (Singapore)Free, with in-app purchases18+
Flipped.ai (flipped.ai)Upskilling courses, skill assessments, job matching and AI hiring toolsGAIUS NETWORKS INC (New York) and Gaius Hyperlocal Pvt Ltd (Chennai)A free assessment is advertised; course and hiring pricing is not on the home pageNot checked
flipped-ai.euAI character chat websiteNo company name or address on the page I readFree tier, then $12.99 or $29.99 a month, per its own pageFooter says 18+

What most people miss: third-party directories mix these up. One business-software profile I read describes Flipped.Chat as a team collaboration tool, and another listing describes Flipped.ai as a data annotation company. Neither matches what the official sites say. Lookalike domains also exist. The way to confirm the official chat app is that its App Store listing links its terms and privacy policy on flipped.chat.

What is Flipped.Chat, and what can you do with it?

Flipped.Chat is an AI character platform. You chat with ready-made characters or build your own, on the web, iOS and Android. Its listing and FAQ describe text chat, live voice calls, image generation, video generation, long-term memory and a “Persona” setting where you describe yourself to the AI.

The US App Store listing, read on November 4, 2026, shows the app in the Entertainment category. It requires iOS 15.5 or later, is about 211.5 MB, supports 29 languages, and is rated 4.7 out of 5 from 8.2K ratings. Ratings measure how much people like the app. They say nothing about privacy or safety.

Flipped’s own FAQ says every character is AI-generated, not a real person. It describes the conversations as fiction made for entertainment, creativity and self-exploration. It is not a therapy or mental health product.

Is Flipped.Chat free?

Yes, you can start free. The FAQ says chatting and creating characters cost nothing, and paid plans add advanced memory, more interactions, and image and video tools. Paid plans and “gems” (an in-app currency) are where the money goes.

Here are the prices on the US App Store listing as of November 4, 2026:

ItemPrice
Flipped Plus, 1 week$4.99
Flipped Plus, 1 month$9.99
Flipped Plus, yearly$39.99
Flipped Platinum, weekly$9.99
Flipped Platinum, monthly$19.99
100 / 300 / 550 / 1,200 / 2,500 gems$0.99 / $2.99 / $4.99 / $9.99 / $19.99

The cost math (my calculation, run on November 4, 2026) shows how much the billing period matters:

If you keep the plan for one yearTotal
Plus, billed weekly$259.48
Plus, billed monthly$119.88
Plus, billed yearly$39.99
Platinum, billed weekly$519.48
Platinum, billed monthly$239.88
Bar chart comparing one year of Flipped Plus subscription costs: $259.48 with weekly billing, $119.88 with monthly billing, and $39.99 with yearly billing.

Yearly Plus works out to about $0.77 a week. Monthly Plus is about $2.31 a week. Weekly Plus passes the monthly price after two weeks. Gems get cheaper in bigger packs, from 99 cents per 100 gems in the smallest pack to 80 cents in the 2,500 pack.

What most people miss:

  • Plan names differ by source. The App Store lists “Flipped Plus” and “Flipped Platinum.” The FAQ says “Pro or Platinum.” Review directories list tiers such as “Gold” and different prices. Trust the price shown in your own store, not a review site.
  • No published gem costs. The FAQ lists what gems are used for: extra selfies, AI photos, videos, longer voice messages, detailed replies, avatar frames, gifts to creators and skipping a countdown page. In the pages I read, Flipped does not publish how many gems each item costs.
  • Web banner. On November 4 the website’s home page showed a banner saying that buying gems saves 15% with a lower third-party service fee. I could not read the web prices, so I cannot say how they compare with the app.
  • Refunds. The terms say fees are non-refundable once login details have been used, and that non-use is not grounds for a refund.
  • Prices elsewhere. Prices on Android and the web may differ from the iOS list above. I could not load the Google Play listing, and the web pricing page builds its plan list by script, so it came up empty.

Is Flipped.Chat safe?

Flipped.Chat states an adult-only rule and describes encryption. Several details are thin or inconsistent, so treat your chats as data held by a company. Don’t type anything you would not want stored.

What the privacy policy says. The policy I read (last updated July 13, 2026) is issued by “Flipped Team.” It says the service collects email addresses and names, device and usage data, IP address and location, which can be precise or approximate. It says it does not process sensitive personal information and has not sold or shared personal information in the past twelve months. It says data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS and encrypted at rest. It also says it does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Account deletion and data requests go through account settings or email.

Where the documents don’t line up:

Claim you may readWhere it appearsWhat I could verify
“Chats are completely private”Flipped FAQA vendor claim. The privacy policy I read has no section on how chat messages are stored, reviewed or used for model training. The terms also reserve the right to monitor the service and grant Flipped a broad, perpetual licence over “Contributions,” a term that includes chatting and character creation.
“End-to-end encryption”A software directory profileNot in the policy, which describes HTTPS in transit and encryption at rest.
“17+ platform”Community Guidelines (dated August 15, 2023)Contradicted by 18+ in the terms, the privacy policy and the current App Store listing.
“No tracking”Not claimedThe App Store privacy label lists purchases, identifiers, usage data and diagnostics as data that may be used to track you. The policy says it stops tracking if you choose “Ask App Not to Track.”
Infographic showing Flipped.Chat's Community Guidelines specify 17+, while its Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and App Store listing specify 18+.

The FAQ’s answer on NSFW content covers public display and recommended content. It says public NSFW display is prohibited, and that characters must look at least 18 at a glance. It does not describe what is allowed inside a private chat. The public Discover page I read on November 4 was romance-heavy, with characters tagged as dominant, obsessive or violent, one carrying a “Violent” warning tag, and many family-relationship role-play premises. Expect adult themes.

The emotional and legal context. On September 11, 2025, the US Federal Trade Commission ordered seven companies to explain how their companion chatbots affect children and teens. Those companies were Alphabet, Character Technologies, Instagram, Meta, OpenAI, Snap and X.AI. Flipped was not among them. The FTC described the study as research, not an enforcement action.

California’s SB 243, signed October 13, 2025, took effect January 1, 2026. According to law-firm summaries, it requires operators of companion chatbots to disclose that users are talking to AI. It also requires a published safety protocol, a warning that the chatbot may not suit some minors, and extra safeguards where the operator knows a user is a minor. Annual reporting starts July 1, 2027, and users can sue. Whether the law applies to a particular app is a legal question I can’t answer.

I did not use the app, so I cannot say whether Flipped.Chat shows AI disclosures, break reminders or crisis referrals. Its terms are dated August 15, 2023, before both developments.

How do you get better replies and fix common problems?

Flipped’s FAQ gives a few direct fixes, and most problems have one.

SymptomLikely causeFix, per Flipped’s FAQ
The character forgets earlier eventsAI memory is limited, and the FAQ says it may “forget” over timeFill in your Persona, tell the character directly what you want, and use the higher plans’ advanced memory
Replies drift off-storyThe model overweights recent turnsEdit or reset the last reply, or rewind to an earlier message by pressing and holding it
Images look offThe FAQ says image quality is still improvingRaise a prompt’s weight, for example “(purple hair:1.2)”, or move the key trait first in the prompt box
You can’t find picturesPhotos live in the character’s galleryType “pic” or “picture,” or use the Picture/Video shortcut in the chat box
App or site won’t loadConnection or outageCheck your connection, check the official Discord for outage notices, or switch to the web version
Still billed after cancellingCancelling stops renewal onlyBenefits last until the paid period ends; confirm cancellation in the store you bought from

Restarting a chat deletes the whole conversation history with that character, so use it as a last step.

How do you cancel Flipped.Chat?

Cancel in the same place you bought the plan. The FAQ says you can subscribe through the Apple App Store, Google Play or the web. Cancelling stops future charges, and benefits stay active until the current billing period ends. For web subscriptions, the FAQ says you must email the team with your UID or purchase email. The terms say you can change or cancel a paid subscription only through the app marketplace where you got it. The two documents don’t match for web purchases.

The practical advice is to cancel before the renewal date, because weekly plans renew every seven days.

What is Flipped.ai, the hiring and career platform?

Flipped.ai is a career and recruitment platform. Its current home page, read on November 4, 2026, pitches industry-led upskilling courses, AI-scored skill assessments (multiple-choice, video, voice and behavioral), semantic job matching and AI interview practice. For employers it lists AI job-description creation, resume matching, proctored assessments, asynchronous AI interviews and managed or campus hiring.

What changed: older material from the same company, including its newsletter and a Zoho marketplace profile, describes a “hiring co-pilot” that makes hiring “100X faster.” The home page now leads with learning and assessments. Many third-party descriptions still reflect the older pitch.

The home page claims 50,000+ learners, 89% placed within 90 days and a 2.5× average salary hike. It gives no method for these numbers, so treat them as the vendor’s claims, not verified results. Pricing is not on the home page.

What about flipped-ai.eu?

I could not verify who runs flipped-ai.eu or whether it is connected to Flipped.Chat. The page I read advertises “uncensored” characters with no filters. It claims a 4.8 rating from 29,000+ members and lists Free, Premium ($12.99 a month) and Deluxe ($29.99 a month) plans. It names no company, address, terms or privacy policy, and its sign-in and purchase buttons all lead to the same /link/ address. Its prices do not match the Flipped.Chat App Store prices. Until an operator is named, treat it as an unverified service, and don’t enter payment or personal details.

Who should use Flipped.Chat, and who should skip it?

It may suit you if:

  • you are an adult who wants character role-play or story-driven chat.
  • you like building characters with a voice and backstory.
  • you can set a spending limit and stick to it.

Skip it, or pause, if:

  • you are under 18. The terms, privacy policy and App Store listing all say 18+.
  • you want a private journal or sensitive-topic support. It is an entertainment product, and the chat-data handling is not clearly documented.
  • you tend to lose track of subscriptions or in-app spending.
  • you want to compare options first. Our reviews of Nomi AI, Kindroid, CrushOn AI and SpicyChat are a good starting point.

A five-check test before you pay

This is an original checklist built from the facts above. The $20 ceiling is illustrative, not a recommendation.

CheckWhat to doWhy it matters
1. DomainConfirm the app or site links its terms and privacy on flipped.chatLookalike domains and similarly named products exist
2. Store priceRead the plan name and price in your own storeDirectories list different names and prices
3. Billing periodCompare the cost per weekWeekly Plus passes the monthly price after two weeks
4. CeilingPick a monthly limit, for example $20At $4.99 a week, four weeks cost $19.96, so weekly plans hit a $20 ceiling in about a month
5. ExitNote where you bought and how you cancelCancelling must happen where you subscribed

Common mistakes:

  • Assuming flipped.ai and flipped.chat are the same company.
  • Trusting a review site’s price over the store price.
  • Leaving a weekly plan running.
  • Treating a 4.7 rating as a privacy rating.

FAQs

Is Flipped AI the same as Flipped.Chat?
Not always. “Flipped AI” can mean the chat app Flipped.Chat, the career platform Flipped.ai, or lookalike sites. The first two are run by different companies.

Is Flipped.Chat free?
Yes, to start. Chatting and character creation are free per its FAQ, while plans and gems cost money. On the US App Store, plans run from $4.99 a week to $39.99 a year.

Is Flipped.Chat safe for teens?
No. Its terms, privacy policy and App Store listing say 18+, and its content includes adult themes. Parents should check device-level app restrictions.

Does Flipped remember what I said?
Partly. Flipped’s FAQ says AI memory is limited and may forget earlier events. The Persona setting and the higher plans’ advanced memory are its suggested fixes.

Can I use it on a PC?
Yes. The FAQ says it runs in a browser, and there are iOS and Android apps.

How do I delete my data?
The privacy policy says you can change or terminate your account in account settings. You can also email a review, update or deletion request. It notes some data may be kept for fraud prevention or legal reasons.

Who owns Flipped.Chat?
Its terms name Singapore Desert Oasis Technical Pte. Ltd. of Singapore. The App Store copyright line reads TellinTree Lab, and the terms and privacy policy say “Flipped Team.”

Conclusion

Flipped AI is not one product. Flipped.Chat is the adult companion chat app, Flipped.ai is a career and hiring platform, and flipped-ai.eu has no named operator in the pages I read. For Flipped.Chat, the yearly Plus plan costs a fraction of weekly billing, but gems and Platinum can add up. Its privacy, age and cancellation details are inconsistent across documents.

Next step: before paying, open the store listing, confirm the plan price and billing period, and set a spending limit and a cancellation reminder.
